Aeolian Islands

Then, it offers a wide choice of musical events (from the Lucca Summer Festival to Firenze Rocks) or cultural festivals; if you like walking, you can focus on the Maremma or on the splendid trekking of theVia degli Dei, which connects Bologna to Florence; if you like the sea, you will not be disappointed, from north to south. And, finally, the great advantage: all this is within a couple of hours drive from wherever you choose as a base in Tuscany.
Cagliari and South of Sardinia

Cagliari will be your port of arrival: the Sardinian capital can easily occupy at least a couple of your days, including visits to museums and monuments and a few afternoons on the beach at Poetto (which can be reached by bus from the city center).
